In this immersive course, students will gain hands-on experience with the TETRIX/REV Robotics Kit. The journey begins with constructing a robot using aluminum and electronic components. Once the nuts and bolts of the robot are assembled, students will enhance their creation by adding servo motors, custom-made electronic circuits, sensors, and a Robotics Controller.
In this course, students will be introduced to the world of programming through Java. They will gain a comprehensive overview of programming concepts, including how to program DC and servo motors. Students will also learn how to utilize inputs from a Logitech joystick and various sensors, such as color, distance, and gyro sensors, to control a robot. The course will further delve into the creation of both autonomous and driver-controlled programs using Java, providing a well-rounded understanding of robotics programming.
No prior knowledge of electronics or programming is required, making this course accessible to all. Please note that while students will gain invaluable experience and knowledge, the robotics kit or parts are not available for students to take home.
Students who participate in the course will be evaluated for potential inclusion in the robotics team. This course also fosters teamwork, as students will collaborate to bring their robotic creations to life.Â
